Sendai Framework stocktaking: Stakeholder inputs

2022-04-25 15:24      來源:UNDRR

The Sendai Framework was the first major agreement of the post-2015 development agenda and provides Member States with concrete actions to protect development gains from the risk of disaster. The Sendai Framework works hand in hand with the other 2030 Agenda agreements and was endorsed by the UN General Assembly.

The MTR marks the midpoint in the implementation cycle of the Sendai Framework. The review scope includes a retrospective review of progress achieved thus far and a prospective view on what needs to be done in the future to address current and emerging issues. The MTR is conducted in coherence with the reviews of other sustainable development frameworks.

In keeping with an ‘a(chǎn)ll of society approach’ elaborated in the Sendai Framework, the MTR consultation process is grounded in the perspectives and lived realities of diverse groups relevant to disaster risk and resilience building. This survey is a part of the main MTR SF process, providing preliminary findings of stakeholders as inputs to consultations at, and deliberations of, the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction 2022, and is open to anyone, inter alia, individuals, organisations, platforms and networks.

While the MTR SF process will conclude in 2023, interim findings of this preliminary survey and related consultations, discussions, and meetings, will form the basis of stakeholder consultations to be held at the seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022). The findings will inform stakeholder engagement in the official and unofficial sessions of the GP2022.

UNDRR invites all interested parties to take the preliminary survey by 14 March at the latest. The preliminary survey questions are also available in a pdf document.

For more information on the MTR process, please refer to the concept note and/or contact the respective focal points
